Meet Rubi: Living with Cancer and Dreaming of Being a Police Officer
Rubi came to Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford at age 5, diagnosed with T-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma. Her rare and aggressive cancer had to be treated in ways that nobody—especially a child—should have to endure. Rubi’s parents encouraged her to express her feelings and process them, while her medical care team minimized scary situations and encouraged play.
Supportive care, funded by generous people like you, helped the whole family through the toughest days. Today, Rubi’s thriving as she continues to receive care at our brand new Bass Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Diseases outpatient clinic and Infusion Center.
